Monday Design Wall

Having cleared all the works in not very much progress off my design wall, this is the current project to be finished before I even look at anything else! It is my Domiciles house quilt, pattern by Aardvark Quilts, available here with free S & H.

This pattern is not the tiny paper pieced houses that had such a following last year. These blocks are 6" finished, quite small enough, thank you

I am having difficulty keeping blocks up on the design wall.

Kitty Bella has developed a passion for the yellow glass head pins I use. As fast as I put blocks up she takes them down and runs off with the pins.

I had six rows arranged before she fixed it! Grrrr!

See lots more design walls at Patchwork Times.
Y'all come back!

  1. Does this make Bella a "home wrecker"???

  2. Bella is the reason no dogs or cats are allowed in my studio. I have enough trouble with me let alone a helper like that. :-)

  3. I really love your blocks and I think that the HST ones at the top are really gorgeous. I had a dog that was big and would snatch up the blocks and "chomp" them like an alligator. I don't miss that....

  4. Cats love to help. My dog likes to grab and eat anything that is on the floor. I frequently find fabric pieces that are really wrinkled and crunchy around the house. I try not to let anything hit the floor in the studio but that doesn't seem to be working. Sigh.

  5. Alas, I do not have a studio in my tiny 500 square feet house. The design wall is in my living room and I cut and sew in the kitchen which adjoins the living room. The rest of my house is taken up with a bathroom, tiny bedroom and the somewhat more spacious 9 x 8 other bedroom which is the office from which I run my business. I enjoy my dog Boysie and the katten Bella, Sandy and Dottie (all rescued) as much if not more than my quilting so we muddle along together.

  6. These house blocks look like they are on their way to becoming a fun quilt!. Nice colors-and I love solids. I love the HST blocks too. I am always a sucker for those. I have a box of HSTs I am using for leaders and enders lately.

  8. I really like everything on your wall. My kitty, Norman, hasn't caused too much chaos yet. The only trouble is when we have to dog sit for my daughter. Norman doesn't seem to sense any danger, but Honey thinks that he would make a good chew toy. Keeping them apart is difficult, to say the least. Fortunately it doesn't happen too often!
